2025 January Newsletter
Valentine’s day is not unique to the United States but is celebrated in many countries around the world. Ironically, the origin of this holiday is tied to the martyrdom of one or more Christian saints named Valentine who lived and died in the third century under the Roman Empire.
There are lots of different stories that surround these saints, but the commonality is that they all died serving others in their quest to help others with love.
We all have that principle or person that we would risk our own lives or give up something in the name of protecting or living these values. Seems like there will always be those who see things differently, not share your values or your passion. Last year I wrote about living your dash and what is clear is that there are always sacrifices to be made in living what matters most to you. Some of those sacrifices are living your truth no matter what the skeptics have to say. I’ve learned that those who truly love you will see your behavior and actions in love and those who are committed to misunderstanding you, will do so.
Taking time to do what inspires you is always at the expense of something else even if it is something such as time allotted for housework. I find that when I can balance time for everyone else, work, chores, and fun, that I am a better person in all arenas. I know that it is never a perfect balance but striving to do what one loves and sprinkling in the obligations creates joy, purpose and foundation.
I hope that this month offers you time to reconnect with your loved ones, enjoy a date night with your partner or experience quality alone time. If we can do everything with love then we will have more energy to love ourselves, love others and love the life we have created.
With love,
LeeAnn Washatka, President

This list of 10 all-time favorite artists "celebrates 10 of the many influential, inspiring and accomplished decorative painters in the field today."
