2010 June Newletter

Ladies it is Jumping June,

Keeping with the jumping theme, I hope you all will jump right into the FUN Paint-In’s that are planned for the balance of 2010.

First, Donna Richards will teach a beautiful Black and White Tulip for our June Paint-In. July is next with Juanita Denton’s "Peacock Eggs in the Bowl" project. I love the feather in this project. Jumping to the next event on the schedule is the MYSTERY PAINT-IN in August. The clue for this month is . . . drum roll please, the piece contains a lot of drybrushing. So if you haven’t signed up do so soon. We need to get the ??surface?? ordered and prepped for you. All you have to do is show up with your regular painting supplies. How easy is that?? No reason not to join in.

I also want to remind you of some special activities on our schedule. The first is our Golden Dollar Auction that will be held in conjunction with the November Paint-In. Your GSDP board members are going to donate handmade items for you to bid on. So check out how you can earn your Golden Dollars to spend at the auction (see table at the end of the newsletter). I know each one of you can paint, but do you have another hobby you can share with us? I know a lot of you quilt and/or make jewelry. I’m not saying we don’t want painted pieces (we do) but I see this as an opportunity to showcase the variety of talents our members have. Please donate one of your handcrafted items for the auction. If you would like to donate a handmade or painted item please contact Glenda or me.

Second is the Ugly Sweater contest to be held during our Christmas Party. I’ve been scanning the local DI, Savers, garage sales, and other thrift stores for a sweater and I’m here to tell you there some ugly sweaters out there. So ladies put on your “Ugly Sweater” thinking caps and begin plotting how you can win the Ugly Sweater contest -- the prize is impressive.

Also, please jump up and mark September 16th - 18th , on your calendars for our Fall Seminar. We’ll have more information in the July newsletter.

I would like to extend a hearty welcome to Debbie Carrell from Boise who has joined our chapter. Welcome!

Everyone, please jump in with us and most of all HAVE FUN.
CarolAnn
