2023 December Newsletter

Happy Holidays Everyone,

I want to take time to thank all the Board members and all the GSDP members who have helped make this last year a success. It takes all of us to get things done and as President, I really have appreciated all of your efforts. Thank you again and I hope you all have a happy Holiday Season.

Our Christmas Partry will be Saturday December 9th at 3 pm at the Biscuits and Hogs in Ogden. So save the date, RSVP, and plan on joining us. We would love to see as many of you as can make it.

The Board has been working hard to set up the painting schedule for 2024. We would like more input from our members about next year's Paint-ins and Seminars. What kind and style of projects would you like to paint? Who would you like as teachers? Would you willing to teach a class and if so, what would you teach? Contact any of the Board members with your ideas.

Terry

 2023 November Newsletter

Hi Everyone,

We had a great seminar with Michele last month and thank her for coming and teaching. A huge thanks to the Board Members and everyone who helped make the seminar a success. I particularly want to thank Tirzah, who took care of many of the deatils of the seminar and to LeeAnn who arranged our lunches and snacks. Great job everyone. Also a big thanks to everyone who attended the seminar, no few of you came from out of state. We really appreciate your support. It made our efforts worthwhile.

Unfortunately, many of us did not complete the project. So we have decided to have an open paint-in in November where you can work on the Rooster or any other unfinished project you might have. There is no cost. Just come and bring whatever you want to work on. We look forward to see you all.

Our Christmas Partry will be Saturday December 9
th at 3 pm at the Biscuits and Hogs in Ogden. So save the date and plan on joining us.

Terry

2024 Elections

GSDP will vote on new officers this fall. We have not had elections since Covid and the current officers were appointed at the GSDP meeting in January and given the task of making the transition to an independent organization after National closed it's doors. That task is completed.

If Golden Spike Decorative Painters is to continue, we need your help. Please consider running for the Board for 2024. The offices of President, 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents, and Secretary are open. A few people have indicated that they would be willing to serve, but we need new people with new ideas and we want everyone to have a chance to set the direction for GSDP in the future. If you are willing to run, please contact any Board member by November 15th

The Ballot will be published and emailed to you by mid-November and you may vote via email. Email votes will be accepted thru December 8th, the day before the Christmas party. If you have not voted by email by then, you may vote in-person at the party.

Would you willing to teach a class and if so, what would you teach? GSDP pays our teachers, so besides sharing your talent with us, you will earn a bit of cash. Please give this some serious thought. We are here for You. Contact any of the Board members with your ideas.

2023 September Newsletter

Hello ladies,

Last month Laura Clegg came up and taught us a Betty Caithness pattern, the Sunflower and Bee Box. It was a really good project and we learned a new way of putting an under-pattern on our wood piece. It turned out really great as did the Sunflowers and adorable bees. If you missed the Paint-in, you missed a great class. Thanks Laura!!!

Terry will teach an Autumn bucket in September. Our seminar with Michele is only a month and a half away. I know we have all been waiting to see what the project will be. Michele has promised us that she will send us a picture of the project within the next two weeks. We will update the newsletter with the picture as sooon as we get it and I will notify everyone with a text.

Looking forward to seeing you at the paint-ins and seminars.
