2017 January Newsletter

Painters,

HAPPY NEW YEAR Everyone. It’s time to freshen up your paints and brushes and let’s get painting. I know without my classes, it’s very hard for me to get motivated to paint. I can always find something else to steal my painting time at home so I love the time I get to spend with all you painters at our Saturday paint-ins and seminars.

I hope you all had a wonderful and joyous Christmas Holiday Season. I can say we truly enjoyed ours with our kids and grand kids. That’s what life is all about for sure.

Thanks to everyone who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend our Chapter Christmas Party.  The food was great, the company was even better.  Congratulations to all who won the raffle prizes for 2016.  The winner of the Special Tin Tea Set Basket was Lisa Peck, the Gloria Eldridge, and the $50.00 seminar raffle prize was Wendy Ouellete. Again, congrats and thanks for painting with us throughout the year.

Be sure and check out our line-up for 2017 classes and seminars. We have some great projects and teachers scheduled for this year.

One last Note. It’s time again for Chapter Dues.

Don’t forget to SMILE.

Pat Reeder

2017 Paint-ins
The Board would like some input from the Chapter members about next year's Paint-ins and Seminars. What kind and style of projects would you like to paint? Who would you like as teachers? Would you willing to teach a class and if so, what would you teach? Please give this some serious thought. We are here for You. Contact any of the Board members with your ideas.

Chapter Dues
Yes, it's that time of year again. I'm sure most of you have received notice from SDP about your national membership renewal with your last Decorative Painters magazine. National dues need to be postmarked before December 1st to avoid their $5 postage/handling fee.  (Pay SDP dues directly to the Society.)

It is not to early to pay your 2017 local dues ($15). Checks can be made out to Golden Spike Decorative Painters and mailed to the Chapter at 295 W Ctr Street, PO 302, Willard, UT 84340.

Raffles
This year we would like to ask all members to bring a NICE raffle item. You will receive two Christmas raffle tickets for your item. Painting supplies like palette paper, brushes, and tracing paper are always welcome as are nice wood or metal surfaces. Other items could include potted plants and candy. If you would like to receive it, it will probably make a good raffle item.

Christmas Raffle

This year at our Christmas Party we will again be having a special raffle. It will be an original watercolor by Juanita Denton. Tickets will be on sale from now until the drawing at the party. The cost is $1.00 per ticket or 6 for $5.00. You do NOT have to be present to win.
