2012 November Newsletter

Hello Painters,

Well, it looks like you all will be seeing the same Board next year. The voting was held during the October paint-in and we were voted back in. We must have done something right. We hope to have another good year and are counting on our members to support the Chapter in 2013.

Sorry a lot of you couldn't make it to the Cookie Plate Class. The weather was great and everyone there enjoyed the class and goodies provided by Sandy, Wendy, and Helen. The class was very relaxing and we enjoyed painting with Kristen. She displayed some of her cookie plates from previous years. They were all beautiful. She is very comfortable teacher to paint with.

This month we will be having the cookie exchange during the paint-in with Glenna. Even if you didn't do a plate, bring some cookies and enjoy the exchange with the rest of the ladies. We will be painting “Winter Joy” (a beautiful piece) with Glenna.

Remember to sign up for our Christmas luncheon. This year the lunch will be at Jeremiah’s Restaurant on 12th Street.  Contact one of the officers or Eileen, our treasurer.See our Blog for details. Come and join us for a fun time.

Remember to bring a canned food item to our paint-in to support the local food bank.

Happy painting,

Lydia

2013 Paint-ins
The Board would like some input from the Chapter members about next year's Paint-ins and fall Seminar. What kind and style of projects would you like to paint? Who would you like as teachers? Would you willing to teach a class and if so, what would you teach? Please give this some serious thought. We are here for You. Contact any of the Board members with your ideas.

2012 Chapter Service Project
This year again, the Chapter will be continuing the Food Drive as our Community Service Project. Last year was very successful and we hope to do even better this year. Members are urged to bring items for the Food Bank to each Paint-in and Seminar they attend. (See our Food Bank Donations Guideline page for information on acceptable items or go the the Utah Food Bank web site for more information.) There is a lot of need, so we hope everyone will support this effort.
