2017 December Newsletter

Painters – MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM OUR HOUSE TO YOURS!

The greatest gifts you can give someone are your time, your love, and your attention.

Dearest Golden Spike Painters, I personally say thanks to each and every one of you for all your support to myself and the Golden Spike Chapter the last two years as I acted as your Chapter President. I could not have accomplished anything without the tremendous help and support from my Board Officers and all you painters. I was rewarded with the most wonderful, lovely, and talented ladies to work this last two years and has truly been an honor to be part of this Chapter. A special Thanks again to Nancy, Lydia, Wendy, Gloria, Terry, Tirzah, and Eileen, your 2016 and 2107 Board. Please continue to support your new 2018 Board Officers. You have some wonderful ladies who will do a superb job for the coming year.

We have come up with an exceptional lineup for next year. Please be sure and check the schedule and support our teachers. Three seminars are planned with some new techniques, and many real fun classes. We still have a few openings for our monthly paint-ins so if you would like to teach a class, please get hold of Tirzah and get on our schedule.

I send each of you a warm hug and Wish you a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Enjoy the holidays with your families and friends and cherish every minute you can with your loved ones. Forget your troubles on Dec 25th and remember to share the love in your heart.

Don’t forget to SMILE and enjoy life.
Pat Reeder

Rosemaling Coast to Coast
Save the date: June 26-28, 2018 (Tuesday-Thursday)

An association entitled "Rosemaling Coast to Coast” has been formed to plan and execute a convention by the same name. We are extending an invitation to you to become a member of the association and assist in making this, our first rosemaling convention in Decorah, Iowa a huge success.

The venue will be Luther College, with everything in a very compact area. We have reserved a dorm that holds 250 people. Across the street from the dorm is the Main Building, which has 12 classrooms. Across the street from the Main Building is the Centennial Union where the vendors will be. Our breakfast and lunch will be served in this building, as will one special evening event. The rooms and meals will be very reasonably priced.

One evening we will have a special event at Vesterheim, "A Night at the Museum." During this evening we can view the 2018 National Exhibition of Folk Art in the Norwegian Tradition and tour the museum itself. It will be a unique event.

We will keep you updated on what is happening as we progress toward the convention. We will need many volunteers, before, during, and after the event. We will be providing a list of areas of tasks so you can select one or two that you would like to become involved with.

The first thing you need to do is become a member of "Rosemaling Coast to Coast". We already have over 20 members from the West Coast. To become a member send $15 with your name, address, phone numbers, and email address to Ruth Green, 309 1st Street, Decorah, IA 52101. Make checks payable to Rosemaling Coast to Coast. 2017 November Newsletter

Painters - Happy Thanksgiving to All

Thanksgiving is a time to give, a time to love, and a time to reflect on the things that matter most in life. Danielle Duckery

Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. - Melody Beattie

Don’t forget Wendy will be teaching the JoSonja Sleigh Bells Ring Plate on Saturdays Nov 18th and 25th. Its absolutely beautiful and will be fun to paint.

Reminder: Our annual Chapter Christmas Party will be at the Prairie Schooner on Dec 2nd at 3:00 pm. Please RSVP and make a meal choice so you can come enjoy our gathering, good food and fun. The Chapter is paying a big portion of your meal as our gift to you for your support throughout the year so take advantage of it and join us.

Don’t forget to SMILE and enjoy life.
