2011 July Newsletter

Dear Painters:

Finally the wet weather has turned warm. I hope none of you had any flood damage to your homes or yards.

Last month Glenna's 'Uncle Sam on a Bee' was a hit! I hope all of you have it done in time for the Fourth of July. Thank you Glenna for teaching at our Chapter Paint-in.

This month is our Summer Social and a chance for current and past members to get re-acquainted. We will have food, friends, and a pool if you want to take a dip. I know July is a busy month, so I hope you have "RSVP"ed so we will know how many to plan on.

Our August teacher will be Kristen Birkeland. She is teaching a lovely Folk Art basket. September is the Bill Bayer Seminar. The class has only a few spaces left, so you need to sign up and get your deposit in soon.

Have a great 4th and see you at the July Social.

Nancy

September Bill Bayer Seminar

Bill “Ridley” Bayer began painting as a hobby in 1988. The following year he studied with Bob Ross and became a certified instructor of Bob’s wet on wet technique. He has since studied with many other well know artists developing his own style of painting. Bill has published five instructional books and three DVD's titled "Down Roads... Less Traveled" showcasing his talents. Bill uses his middle name “Ridley” as his signature. Ridley was also his grandfather’s name and Bill signs his paintings in “Paps” honor. Bill and his wife Fran live in St. Louis Mo and many of Bill’s compositions are inspired by the beautiful countryside surrounding their home. Bill paints in oils, acrylic and watercolor and travels across the country teaching the techniques he has learned.
