2019 August Newsletter

"Summer is leaving silently, much like a traveler approaching the end of an amazing journey" Darnell L. Walker

Hello Painters,

Fall will soon be here and so will the fall Seminar with Heidi England. She will be teaching a cute bench with happy frogs fishing. See the newsletter for pictures and more details. I'm sure it will be a delightful Heidi class.

Thank you Helen for teaching the JillyBean Santa Face. It was fun and Pat went home with a completed piece. It turned out just beautiful. Sandy did her Santa with with a purple hat and it was really really pretty.

Next month Terry will be teaching a beautiful Battenburg lace pattern by Arlene Linton. I can't wait to do the piece.

And talking about fall and soon thereafter the holidays, this year we will be celebrating our Christmas Party at Maria's Mexican Restaurant. So keep the 7th of December open and come and join the celebration.

Hope to see you all soon.

Take care!
Lydia

2019 Chapter Service Project
Every year the Chapter has supported worthy causes in our community. This year we will be supporting the local Food Bank and Catholic Community Services. The Chapter will collect money at paint-ins and seminars. Please be generous with your support. There is a lot of need out there. Thanks!

Raffles
This year we would like to ask all members to bring a NICE raffle item. You will receive two Christmas raffle tickets for your item. Painting supplies like palette paper, brushes, and tracing paper are always welcome as are nice wood or metal surfaces. Other items could include potted plants and candy. If you would like to receive it, it will probably make a good raffle item.

Christmas Raffles
This year at our Christmas Party we will again be having a special raffle. This year's prize is a wooden sewing box filled with all kinds of painting and other goodies. Tickets will be on sale from now until the drawing at the party. The cost is $1.00 per ticket or 6 for $5.00. You do NOT have to be present to win.

2020 Elections
The Chapter will vote on new officers at the October Seminar on October 4th 2019. Below is a list of those who are willing to serve the Chapter in 2020.

President -      Helen Mahoney
1st VP -          Pat Reeder
Treasurer -     Gloria Eldridge
Secretary -     Nancy Litz

You may 'write-in' a candidate for any Board position, but please make sure that person is willing and able to serve before you nominate them. All 'write-in' candidates must be added to the ballot before voting begins at the Seminar on October 4th 2019.

If you cannot attend the October Seminar, you may vote by E-mail before the October 4th meeting. A special E-mail will be sent around the first of the month and you may vote by responding to the E-mail. Please indicate your approval of the candidate(s) or your 'write-in' candidate for a specific Board position.
