2019 January Newsletter

Happy New Year Everyone!

I trust you all had a happy and healthy New Year and my wish for myself is to see more of our members at the monthly paint-ins and seminars. I know the board members would love to have your participation and input on the programs scheduled for 2019.

We had a wonderful Christmas lunch at Jeremiah's Restaurant. The white elephant gift exchange was a hoot. The winner of the John Dunn bentwood box was lucky Nancy Coley. There were many other raffles prizes and happy winners.

We are looking forward to the projects this year and hope to see you there to participate and enjoy your time with us.

So check our blog for all the scheduled events.

Have a great day!

Lydia

2019 Paint-ins
The Board would like some input from the Chapter members about next year's Paint-ins and Seminars. What kind and style of projects would you like to paint? Who would you like as teachers? Would you willing to teach a class and if so, what would you teach? Please give this some serious thought. We are here for You. Contact any of the Board members with your ideas.

2019 Chapter Service Project
Every year the Chapter has supported worthy causes in our community. Our past projects have included the battered woman's shelter, Safe Harbor; Ogden Youth Futures; the Veteran's Home; and the local Food Bank. This year we would like some input from the members for our project. Please contact any of the Board members with your suggestions. Thanks!

Chapter Dues
Yes, it's that time of year again. I'm sure most of you have received notice from SDP about your national membership renewal with your last Decorative Painters magazine. National dues need to be postmarked before December 1st to avoid their $5 postage/handling fee. (Pay SDP dues directly to the Society.)

It is not to early to pay your 2019 local dues ($15). Checks can be made out to Golden Spike Decorative Painters and mailed to the Chapter at 295 W Ctr Street, PO 302, Willard, UT 84340.

Raffles
This year we would like to ask all members to bring a NICE raffle item. You will receive two Christmas raffle tickets for your item. Painting supplies like palette paper, brushes, and tracing paper are always welcome as are nice wood or metal surfaces. Other items could include potted plants and candy. If you would like to receive it, it will probably make a good raffle item.

Bill “Ridley” Bayer began painting as a hobby in 1988. The following year he studied with Bob Ross and became a certified instructor of Bob’s wet on wet technique. He has since studied with many other well know artists developing his own style of painting. Bill has published five instructional books and three DVD's titled "Down Roads... Less Traveled" showcasing his talents. Bill uses his middle name “Ridley” as his signature. Ridley was also his grandfather’s name and Bill signs his paintings in “Paps” honor.
