2016 March Newsletter
Hi Painters,

Remember to share your love and kindness with family and friends, a sick neighbor, or a lonely stranger.  You may just make a big change in their hearts and lives.”

I’m a little slow getting my letter out and I apologize. I was down sick with bronchitis and trying to recover. I sure hope spring comes soon so everyone can get over all the sickness going around. From the looks of my spring flowers popping their heads out of the ground and growing very fast I don’t think it’s too far off. A special thanks to Terry for updating the website on my behalf.

Thanks to Juanita Denton for teaching the nutcracker class and all of you that attended. We had a blast painting, visiting and sharing ideas. Everyone had a different nutcracker and it sure was fun to see how each one turned out. I was waiting for years to paint one and sure did love it.

Don’t forget to sign up for the beautiful Jacobean Style Tray Nancy Coley is teaching on March 26th. I’m sad I won’t be there due to a conflict but I signed up to get the pattern and do it on my own. A lovely piece for sure.

If you are planning to paint at the Heidi England Seminar in April, please get your deposit paid ASAP to hold your place. We will also need to get a count for tables to our wood builder.
Reminder: We are still looking for teachers for a couple of months and donations for raffles.
Please keep us in mind.
I hope this note finds everyone healthy and thinking about painting.

2016 Chapter Service Project
This year the Chapter will again have a donation box for the Food Bank where people can drop in spare change or a dollar or two. You'd be surprised how quickly little bits can add up. There is a lot of need, so we hope everyone will support this effort.

Chapter Board Meetings
The Chapter Board meets the first Friday of the month at 10 am at the Riverdale Senior Center, 4433 S. 900 W. in Riverdale. This is as open meeting and all members are welcome. If you have  ideas and/or issues that you would like the Chapter to address, please come and let the Board know. This is your Chapter and your input is important.

Raffles
This year we would like to ask all members to bring a raffle item. You will receive two raffle tickets for your item. Painting supplies like palette paper, brushes, and tracing paper are always welcome as are nice wood or metal surfaces. Other items could include potted plants and candy. If you would like to receive it, it will probably make a nice raffle item.

March Business Meeting
There will be a short business meeting preceding the Paint-in. We will be discussing proposed changes to the Chapter By-Laws and Standing Rules. Please review the Bylaws/Standing Rules pages of the blog. The changes will be noted in red italics.
