 2024 February Newsletter

Hello Everyone,

February brings the promise of growth and rebirth with the advent of spring. Our paint group is very similar in this cyclical process. We have many members who represent the roots or foundation of our group and those new members who we love to foster their growth and watch their talent bloom.

During my tenure as president, it is my goal to help nurture these roots while encouraging new growth and membership. I want to continue with the mission when this group originally formed to make our time spent together a place of connection, community and creativity. It is my hope that I can influence and encourage others to join in and become involved. We are very fortunate to have a plethora of talent right here in Northern Utah. I would love to open the door for feedback, concerns, needs as well as hear what you think is positive about our club. I would also like to create the opportunity for everyone to teach or volunteer. I want to hear your ideas or hear about what you are learning.

I have been a member of this group for 18 years; yet I only learned how to paint two years ago. Im a big believer in supporting and serving to keep the good. We have a lot of good here and I would love to see how our club can bloom some more. I’m excited to teach my first beginners class this month and would like to have our members support this class by either attending or referring someone who has interest in learning to paint. Please let me know if you have someone interested. Deadline for Februarys beginners class is February 8, 2024.

My door is always open with the goal of supporting the best interests of our club and supporting our members. Feel free to contact me, leeanngossett@gmail.com. I am excited for the upcoming paint ins and seminars while serving you and our club.

Leeann Washatka, President

Gayle is internationally recognized as a rosemaling painter and has been awarded a Gold Medal in Rosemaling from Vestereim. Her works are highly prized by all lovers of Norwegian Rosemaling and are today's and tomorrow's collectables.

Tickets will be on sale from now until the drawing at the party. The cost is $1.00 per ticket. You do NOT have to be present to win.
