Hi Painters!
Well
ladies, I believe summer is about over. The fruit stands are out of
corn on the cob and the tomatoes are getting scarce. The apples are
on now but I really hate to see the corn etc. go, but I just love
fall.
Those
of you who did not make it to the Peggy Harris Seminar really missed
a delightful lady and a very informative two days. Everyone ended up
with wonderful animals. I don't know when we have had more
information and instructions available to us.
Thanks
to all the Board Members for all their help in setting up, taking
down and serving lunches. Don't know what we would do without all of
you. Thanks, again.
I
hate to keep bring this to your attention, but we invite EVERYONE TO
COME JOIN US and bring your unfinished pieces and Tirzah will help
you finish them. We meet at the Riverdale Senior Center on
Wednesday's from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. They also serve a great lunch
for $2.50. This is a wonderful place to paint and we have a lot of
fun. Also, beginning October
29th, we
will start working on the prep for the November Christmas
Plate. Yet another good reason to join us!

The Board would like some input from the Chapter members about next year's Paint-ins and fall Seminar. What kind and style of projects would you like to paint? Who would you like as teachers? Would you willing to teach a class and if so, what would you teach? Please give this some serious thought. We are here for You. Contact any of the Board members with your ideas.
2015 Elections
The Chapter will vote on new officers at the November Paint-in. If you are willing to serve, please contact one of the Board members so we can add your name to the ballot.
You may 'write-in' a candidate for any Board position, but please make sure that person is willing and able to serve before you nominate them. All 'write-in' candidates must be added to the ballot before voting begins at the Paint-in.
If you cannot attend the November Paint-in, you may vote by E-mail before the November 22nd meeting. A special E-mail will be sent around the first of the month and you may vote by responding to the E-mail. Please indicate your approval of the candidate(s) or your 'write-in' candidate for a specific Board position. October

Prep Instructions:
Base coat surface with Carbon Black, adding Sealer to the first coat. When dry, trace on the body of the fish. Undercoat the body of the fish with white. Trace on the rest of
the pattern.

This Paint-in will be held at the Riverdale Community Center, 4360 S. Parker Drive in Riverdale.
Directions from the North: Exit I-15 at 31st street and turn east onto UT-79 for 0.3 miles to the stop light at UT-79 and Parker Drive. Turn right on Parker Drive and proceed 2.0 miles south. The Community Center will be on the left, just past the fire station.
Directions from the South: Exit I-15 at Riverdale and go east to the first stop light. Turn left onto S 1500 W and proceed north for .5 mi. (Note: S 1500 W turns right slightly and becomes Cozy Dale Dr.) At the traffic circle take the 1st exit onto W 400 S and go east. Proceed to next traffic circle and take the 2st exit onto Parker Drive and go north. The Community Center will be on the right, just before the fire station.

Prep Instructions:
Base coat surface with Seedlings + touch Sealer. When dry, trace on the rest of the pattern.
Step 1: All areas of the design are brush-sketched and shaded with Purple Madder + Burnt Umber. This is very loose with no hard edges.
Step 2: Shade all design elements to create form.
Step 3: Strengthen the shaded areas with additional dark values using Burnt Umber + Diox Purple (1:touch), followed by a touch of Carbon Black in the deepest darkest spots.

Christmas Raffle
This year at our Christmas Party we will again be having a special raffle. Carol Hillier donated to the Chapter a signed tin plate by John Dunn. Tickets will be on sale from now until the drawing at the party. The cost is $1.00 per ticket or 6 for $5.00. You do NOT have to be present to win.
