2015 Seminars and Paint-ins
Hi Painters and Happy Halloween
THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH
"A moment for you! You’ve got built-in happiness boosters! It’s easy for frustrations and aggravations to steal our joy. But they don’t deserve it! So the next time stress tries to nibble away at your day, let yourself ignore it. And when worry demands your attention, give yourself permission to postpone it! YOU HAVE THE POWER!"
!f you haven’t signed up for the fall seminar and other classes we have, be sure and check out the blog and see what we will be painting. This next week will be Rosemary West’s Seminar on October 7th & 8th. Hope you are all signed up to do this great stationery box.
We will be holding elections for 2016 Chapter officers at the seminar this next week. Hope everyone will either go on line and vote or come to the seminar and cast your vote for those officers you would like to have serve.
Hasn’t it been a wonderful summer! Peaches are all gone but there are beautiful apples and pumpkins available for Halloween. Really love this nice Fall weather but can’t say I’m looking forward to the snow (even though we really need it).
Our Christmas party will be coming up soon. Check out the blog for date, time and other particulars. Let’s everyone attend!
EVERYONE COME JOIN US, bring your unfinished pieces and Tirzah will help you to finish them. We meet at the Riverdale Senior Center on Wednesday’s from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. They also serve a great lunch for $2.50.
Hope we see you soon and may God bless.
Gloria

2nd VP - Nancy Coley
Treasurer - Wendy Ouellette
Secretary - Lydia Gossett
You may 'write-in' a candidate for any Board position, but please make sure that person is willing and able to serve before you nominate them. All 'write-in' candidates must be added to the ballot before voting begins at the Seminar.
If you are not attending the October Seminar, you may vote by E-Mail by October 5th. A special E-mail has been sent to you and you may vote by responding to the E-mail. Please indicate your approval of the candidate(s) or your 'write-in' candidate for a specific Board position. 2015 Chapter Service Project
This year the Chapter will be trying something different for our Community Service Project. Instead of bring food items (which we so often forget) for the Food Bank, we will have a donation box where people can drop in spare change or a dollar or two. You'd be surprised how quickly little bits can add up. There is a lot of need, so we hope everyone will support this effort.

Prep Instructions:
Seal
piece. I mix sealer in with my first coat of paint. I based the whole
piece in Azure mixed with the sealer 1:1. The second coat shouldn’t
have any sealer in it, or the piece will feel sticky.
Paint area behind the flowers Azure. Paint area behind the
butterflies Raindrop. The color behind the compass rose on the top is
seedlings. The trim is wild grape. The small trim is Marigold.
Purple
borders:
Mix
a little white into wild grape and pull a straight stroke vertically
all the way around.
Glaze
the piece:
When
finished base coating all these areas, Use blackberry to glaze color
next to any place where the colors meet. To glaze it, side
load in black berry and walk the color out. You may want to use
retarder medium to give yourself time to walk it out. You can take a
mop brush to soften it. Then
take rain drop, gold oxide and/or vermilion and dry brush some
highlights here and there all over the painted areas.
Transfer
design to piece.
