2016 May Newsletter
Hi Painters,
Thought for the Month: “April is a promise that May is bound to keep.” Hal Borland
Wow, seems like April flew by with the birds. Goodness, spring showers bring on May flowers. Oh yes… we love em.
My-oh-my, did we have fun at Heidi’s April Seminar. The wood tables were wonderful and the class was so much fun. Heidi is an incredible and talented teacher and makes the class so entertaining while learning new techniques. She has patience for slower painters and still keeps the faster painters going at warp speed. I do believe she is the original Energizer bunny. An amazing, delightful lady! Those who missed the class really missed a humdinger….. Thanks to all who attended and helped make this seminar successful.
We have a great selection of teachers and projects coming up for our Saturday paint-ins. Don’t forget to check out the classes and sign up.
We have to order the tine' early to have them ready for the October seminar. If you plan on attending, we need to have your $100 non-refundable deposit by June 1st.
Have a great month of May and hope to see you all soon.

2016 Chapter Service Project
This year the Chapter will again have a donation box for the Food Bank where people can drop in spare change or a dollar or two. You'd be surprised how quickly little bits can add up. There is a lot of need, so we hope everyone will support this effort.
Chapter Board Meetings
The Chapter Board meets the first Friday of the month at 10 am at the Riverdale Senior Center, 4433 S. 900 W. in Riverdale. This is as open meeting and all members are welcome. If you have ideas and/or issues that you would like the Chapter to address, please come and let the Board know. This is your Chapter and your input is important.
Raffles
This year we would like to ask all members to bring a NICE raffle item. You will receive two Christmas raffle tickets for your item. Painting supplies like palette paper, brushes, and tracing paper are always welcome as are nice wood or metal surfaces. Other items could include potted plants and candy. If you would like to receive it, it will probably make a good raffle item.
Christmas Raffle
This year at our Christmas Party we will again be having a special raffle. The gift basket includes a tin tea set make by the renowned Canadian tin maker Robert Faulkner. Tickets will be on sale from now until the drawing at the party. The cost is $1.00 per ticket or 6 for $5.00. You do NOT have to be present to win.
