2020 February Newsletter

Brrr....We've survived the snow so far!

Gloria's Gnome was a warm and fun event in a very cold month.  Thank you Gloria!

There' a lot of prep work for the frame this month.  It's hard to get Delta paints and find the conversions for older colors but the antiquing on this piece can correct almost anything.  There's a lot of substitutions on this piece.  We may not get the piece completed in class, especially the antiquing, so if there is time during the March paint-in, we will work on that.

Also don't forget to check out the Carol Spohn Seminar in April. The watercolors should be a lot of fun.

I hope everyone can keep warm and hope to see you all later this month.

Helen

2020 Chapter Service Project
Every year the Chapter has supported worthy causes in our community. This year we will be supporting the local Food Bank and Catholic Community Services. The Chapter will collect money at paint-ins and seminars. Please be generous with your support. There is a lot of need out there. Thanks!

Raffles
This year we would like to ask all members to bring a NICE raffle item. You will receive two Christmas raffle tickets for your item. Painting supplies like palette paper, brushes, and tracing paper are always welcome as are nice wood or metal surfaces. Other items could include potted plants and candy. If you would like to receive it, it will probably make a good raffle item.

Christmas Raffles

This year at our Christmas Party we will again be having special raffle. It will be an signed original tin pitcher by John Dunn generously donated to the Chapter by Carol Hillier.  John painted in the Peter Ompir Style as well as his own style. His works can be found in museums, are highly prized buy collectors, and command high prices. This year's winner will be very lucky.

Tickets will be on sale from now until the drawing at the party. The cost is $1.00 per ticket. You do NOT have to be present to win.
