2014 May Newsletter

THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH
You are a gift to the world. One-of-a-kind, rarer than the rarest jewel, more precious than the most precious gem and more valued than any treasure—that's you! Every day, you make the world a better place just by being the best person you can be: yourself! Life is a precious gift in which anything is possible“

Heidi arrived for our seminar and our first day of painting was wonderful, but was I ever tired when I got home. She really worked us hard, as she usually does, but our pieces are all going to be marvelous. This cabinet is a wonderful heirloom piece.

We have lots of fun classes coming up. Hope you can take time off from your busy summertime and come to some of them. You can check these out on the Chapter blog. If there is anything you would like to particularly do, please let someone on the Board know and we will see if we can take care of it.

Thanks to all those members who give of their time and support the Chapter. Without each of you we would not be able to have the wonderful classes and seminars that we do.

Don't forget June Skollingberg's beautiful Russian Floral Box coming up in May. There is also a class in Zentangle in July, so check these out.

Happy Spring Everyone! Lots of yard work to take care of now. Hope to see you soon and may God bless.

Gloria

2014 Paint-ins
The Board would like some input from the Chapter members about next year's Paint-ins and fall Seminar. What kind and style of projects would you like to paint? Who would you like as teachers? Would you willing to teach a class and if so, what would you teach? Please give this some serious thought. We are here for You. Contact any of the Board members with your ideas.

2014 Chapter Service Project
This year again, the Chapter will be continuing the Food Drive as our Community Service Project. Last year was very successful and we hope to do even better this year. Members are urged to bring items for the Food Bank to each Paint-in and Seminar they attend. (See our Food Bank Donations Guideline page for information on acceptable items or go the the Utah Food Bank web site for more information.) There is a lot of need, so we hope everyone will support this effort.

Raffles!!!
The Chapter has one more Seminar this year and we really need nice raffle items. So ladies clean out your 'stashes of stuff' and donate some of it to the Chapter. If they are items you would like to have----so would we! They would be much appreciated.

Christmas Raffle

This year at our Christmas Party we will again be having a special raffle. Carol Hillier donated to the Chapter a signed tin plate by John Dunn. Tickets will be on sale from now until the drawing at the party. The cost is $1.00 per ticket or 6 for $5.00. You do NOT have to be present to win.
