2015 January Newsletter

THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH
"You're a VIP! Other people may seem more important than you are. But they're not. Other people may seem more worthy of attention or respect than you are. But they're not. You are one-of-a-kind amazing and someone who will never be less than special!

Hi Painters:

NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS!!! Hope you all had a Happy, Happy New Year and that the resolutions you made you'll be able to make them all come true.

Please be sure and check out our blog site for the projects we have scheduled so far this year. We hope you will be able to at least attend several of the classes and paint-ins this year with us.

We had a very nice Christmas Party at Ruby River, but we missed those of you who were not there. We played some really fun games, gave away prizes, door prizes and gifts for winning games. Almost everyone took something home. Thank you Nancy for the fun games and all the work you put in. Also thank you Helen for the favors you made.

Tirzah has been sick as has her husband. Both had the flu. We don't know when she will be starting the Wednesday finishing project class in the New Year, so you may want to give her a call before coming.

Remember, that we would like to hear from all of you regarding what you'd be interested in painting this year, what class you'd be willing to teach, and what office you would like to run for in next year's elections. Heads up ladies, “We Need You!”

God Bless

Gloria

2015 Paint-ins
The Board would like some input from the Chapter members about next year's Paint-ins and fall Seminar. What kind and style of projects would you like to paint? Who would you like as teachers? Would you willing to teach a class and if so, what would you teach? Please give this some serious thought. We are here for You. Contact any of the Board members with your ideas.

Dues
Yes, it's that time of year again. I'm sure most of you have received notice from SDP about your national membership renewal with your last Decorative Painters magazine. National dues need to be postmarked before December 1st to avoid their $5 postage/handling fee. (Pay SDP dues directly to the Society.)

Please pay your local dues ($15) to the treasurer by January 1st to avoid our $5 late penalty (accrued after January 1st). Checks can be made out to Golden Spike Decorative Painters and mailed to the Chapter at 470 W 4900 S Ogden UT 84405.

2015 Chapter Service Project
This year the Chapter will be trying something different for our Community Service Project. Instead of bring food items (which we so often forget) for the Food Bank, we will have a donation box where people can drop in spare change or a dollar or two. You'd be surprised how quickly little bits can add up. There is a lot of need, so we hope everyone will support this effort.
