2015 May Newsletter

THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH
"You have the secret to feeling great! It's easier than you think to say goodbye to the blahs and hello to more energy, fresh confidence, and a brand-new outlook: Just be good to yourself! Do something that nurtures your mind, body and spirit. The results: a better-than-ever you!"

Hi Painters!

Heidi England's seminar is almost upon us. First day is Wednesday, April 29th. Hope to see you there. It is going to be a great seminar and I can't wait to see Heidi again. Everyone should have been working hard on doing the basting-in for this project, it is really a huge one.

How did everyone enjoy the late snow storm we had? I don't know how the fruit orchards have done as I have not talked to any of the farmers. I know my Chinese Lacy Maple didn't do so well. At least half of it froze. Everything else in my yard looks fairly good though. Hope everyone's flowers, etc. are doing okay.

Took a short trip to Yellowstone. Not everything is open for the summer yet. Saw a lot of adult elk and buffalo but no young ones. Apparently moms keep them hidden until they are about 2 weeks old. Didn't see any bears. They must still be hibernating.

REMEMBER the Board would like to hear from you all regarding what you'd be interested in painting this year and next, what classes you'd like to teach and what office you would like to run for in next year's elections. IF WE ARE GOING TO KEEP OUR CHAPTER WORKING AND GROWING WE NEED ALL OUR MEMBERS TO PITCH IN AND ASSIST. Thanks, ladies.

Our blog site has all the great upcoming classes listed. Be sure and check for what classes you would like to attend and sign up with Pat at 801-476-9366 or Tirzah at 801-825-2660.

If anyone knows of someone who would like to learn to paint, Tirzah is teaching a beginners class at the Senior Center in Roy on Wednesdays. Be sure to call her and get registered in the class.

God Bless.

Gloria

2015 Chapter Service Project
This year the Chapter will be trying something different for our Community Service Project. Instead of bring food items (which we so often forget) for the Food Bank, we will have a donation box where people can drop in spare change or a dollar or two. You'd be surprised how quickly little bits can add up. There is a lot of need, so we hope everyone will support this effort.
