2019 June Newsletter

Welcome June, may you scatter blessings, health, happiness, and prosperity to all.

Hello everyone,

We had a very nice turn out for the High Tea. LeeAnn worked very hard to present a wonderful and delicious variety of sandwiches, scones, and other delicacies. The teas were also delicious, especially the hibiscus flavored tea. I hope everyone in attendance enjoyed the event and liked the unique crotchet tea cups filled with special little goodies. Thanks to everyone that helped with the cleanup. It was appreciated very much.

LeeAnn wants to thank Terry Pulver and Carol Fredricksen for helping her setup the table, etc. Terry did a great job of greeting the guests with a string of pearls as they arrived. Each guest was then directed to choose a straw hat and decorate it using the various flowers, ribbons, etc.

On June 22nd, Helen Mahoney will be teaching a beginner class. The pretty yard sign, all supplies (including paints, brushes, etc.) will be provided and pizza will be served for lunch. Please RSVP to Terry Pulver at 801-731-6425 by June 15th and bring a friend for a fun filled day.

Don't forget about our October seminar with Heidi England. We will be painting a really cute Frog Bench. Check the blog for picture and details.

We'd love to see our members attend the scheduled paint-ins that are planned for the year. Come join us for fun on Saturday's painting and get reacquainted.

Take Care,

Lydia

2019 Chapter Service Project
Every year the Chapter has supported worthy causes in our community. This year we will be supporting the local Food Bank and Catholic Community Services. The Chapter will collect money at paint-ins and seminars. Please be generous with your support. There is a lot of need out there. Thanks!

Raffles
This year we would like to ask all members to bring a NICE raffle item. You will receive two Christmas raffle tickets for your item. Painting supplies like palette paper, brushes, and tracing paper are always welcome as are nice wood or metal surfaces. Other items could include potted plants and candy. If you would like to receive it, it will probably make a good raffle item.

Christmas Raffles
This year at our Christmas Party we will again be having a special raffle. This year's prize is a wooden sewing box filled with all kinds of painting and other goodies. Tickets will be on sale from now until the drawing at the party. The cost is $1.00 per ticket or 6 for $5.00. You do NOT have to be present to win.

2020 Elections
The Chapter will vote on new officers at the October Seminar. If you are willing to serve, please contact one of the Board members so we can add your name to the ballot.

You may 'write-in' a candidate for any Board position, but please make sure that person is willing and able to serve before you nominate them. All 'write-in' candidates must be added to the ballot before voting begins at the Seminar.

If you cannot attend the October Seminar, you may vote by E-mail before the October 4th meeting. A special E-mail will be sent around the first of the month and you may vote by responding to the E-mail. Please indicate your approval of the candidate(s) or your 'write-in' candidate for a specific Board position.

Apply one coat of White Gesso to seal the surface. Dry. Use 1”, 1 1/2”, or 2” roller to apply a mixture of Soft White with tiny touches of Oakmoss/Sea Grass mixture to top and outside Sides of bench. (You may also want to add a whisper of Golden Grain.) Paint the upper ledge of the apron with more Soft White. The checks will be Thistle with a tiny touch of Wild Grape.
