2019 December Newsletter

Hello Everyone,

As the year comes to an end, I want to thank everyone for participation in the GSDP activities, especially the Board officers for taking care of the Chapters business and for being there whenever something was needed. And a special thank you to all the teachers that gave their time to teach a class at out paint-ins, and to our wonderful seminar teachers.

A special thanks to Tirzah for finding such great seminar teachers. We enjoyed them all. Thanks to Gloria for doing a fine job with the treasury books. It may be one of the most time consuming all all the board positions. Thanks to Helen and Nancy for their support as VP's and for taking care of the raffles. To Pat Reeder, our past president, for taking time to attend meetings and adding her input on so many subjects. To Carol for being at every meeting and taking notes. And to Terry for getting the newsletter posted each month.

Thanks ladies, your hard work was much appreciated because you're what made this club paint on.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with good health and happiness, all year long.

We hope to see you at the Christmas party as well as next year for another year of great classes.

Aloha, Lydia

2019 Chapter Service Project
Every year the Chapter has supported worthy causes in our community. This year we will be supporting the local Food Bank and Catholic Community Services. The Chapter will collect money at paint-ins and seminars. Please be generous with your support. There is a lot of need out there. Thanks!

Chapter Dues
Yes, it's that time of year again. I'm sure most of you have received notice from SDP about your national membership renewal with your last Decorative Painters magazine. National dues need to be postmarked before December 1st to avoid their $5 postage/handling fee. (Pay SDP dues directly to the Society.)

It is not to early to pay your 2020 local dues ($15). Checks can be made out to Golden Spike Decorative Painters and mailed to the Chapter at 295 W Ctr Street, PO 302, Willard, UT 84340.

Raffles
This year we would like to ask all members to bring a NICE raffle item. You will receive two Christmas raffle tickets for your item. Painting supplies like palette paper, brushes, and tracing paper are always welcome as are nice wood or metal surfaces. Other items could include potted plants and candy. If you would like to receive it, it will probably make a good raffle item.

Christmas Raffles
This year at our Christmas Party we will again be having a special raffle. This year's prize is a wooden sewing box filled with all kinds of painting and other goodies. Tickets will be on sale from now until the drawing at the party. The cost is $1.00 per ticket or 6 for $5.00. You do NOT have to be present to win.
