2023 August Newsletter
Hello ladies,
Last
month we had a fun Paint-in with Shaunna
teaching the Sunflower picture. I normally don't like sunflowers, but
this one was fun to do and turned out just beautiful. Eveyone really
enjoyed the class. Thanks Shaunna.
We
have several more fun paint-in's scheduled for the summer. Laura
Clegg will teach a Betty Caithness pattern, the Sunflower
and Bee Box in August, and Terry will teach an Autumn bucket in
September. We will have the long awaited seminar with Michele Walton
in October. She is designing a piece especially for our group, so we
a looking forward to see what she comes up with. We will let you know
what the piece will be as soon as we have that information, so keep
checking the newsletter.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at our paint-ins and seminars.
Terry

2024 Elections
GSDP
will vote on new officers this fall. We have not had elections since
Covid and the current officers were appointed at the GSDP meeting in
January and given the task of making the transition to an independent
organization after National closed it's doors. That task is
completed, and the appointed officers have taken us through the first
half a year. If Golden Spike Decorative Painters is to continue, we
need your help.
Please consider running for the Board for 2024. All positions are
open, President, 1st
and 2nd
Vice Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, Newsletter editor, and
Seminar/Paint-in coordinator. If you are willing to run, you may
contact any Board member.
2024 Paint-ins and Seminars
The
Board would like some input from our members about next year's
Paint-ins and Seminars. What kind and style of projects would you
like to paint? Who would you
like as teachers? Would you
willing
to teach a class and if so, what would you teach? Please give this
some serious thought. We are here for You.
Contact
any Board member with your ideas.

With a dirty brush, side load into Traditional Burnt Umber and lay some color here and there, especially at the top and bottom of the piece. Repeat with dark Green and Burnt Umber.
Clean brush and redress with glazing medium. Pick up Diox Purple and tap here and there, repeat with Oxblood.
Colors should be soft and blended. Use damp (not wet) sponge to blend if necessary. Dry.
Repeat the process until you have the results you desire. Dry over night.
