2016 February Newsletter

Hi Painters,

Just a quick note for our President Pat who is down hard with bronchitis.

First, a warm welcome to the three new members, Sandi Anaya, Carol Daz, and Nancy Litz who joined us for the January Paint-in. We also want to welcome Carol Ann Smith back. We enjoyed having you and hope you enjoyed painting with us and will come to many more paint-ins, seminars and parties in the future.

Second, thank you Wendy for teaching the Paint-in in January. It was a really cute piece and our members brought many fun surfaces to paint on. They all turned out very nice and I think everyone enjoyed the class. Thanks again.

Third, don't forget to sign up for the February Nutcracker paint-in with Juanita (Note: the date is the 3rd Saturday, not the 4th of February) and the March Jacobean Style Tray paint-in with Nancy. Check out the details below in the blog.

Finally, all of you who are planing on attending the Heidi England Seminar in April need to get your deposit paid ASAP to hold your place in the class and pay for the wood. We need to know how many will be attending so we can have the tables built.

2016 Chapter Service Project
This year the Chapter will again have a donation box for the Food Bank where people can drop in spare change or a dollar or two. You'd be surprised how quickly little bits can add up. There is a lot of need, so we hope everyone will support this effort.

Chapter Board Meetings
The Chapter Board meets the first Friday of the month at 10 am at the Riverdale Senior Center, 4433 S. 900 W. in Riverdale. This is as open meeting and all members are welcome. If you have  ideas and/or issues that you would like the Chapter to address, please come and let the Board know. This is your Chapter and your input is important.

Raffles
This year we would like to ask all members to bring a raffle item. You will receive two raffle tickets for your item. Painting supplies like palette paper, brushes, and tracing paper are always welcome as are nice wood or metal surfaces. Other items could include potted plants and candy. If you would like to receive it, it will probably make a nice raffle item.
