Society of Decorative Painters News
All chapters who survived 2020 should have received their patch from the office. We thank you for making every effort to continue through the pandemic. If your chapter needs any help existing virtually, please let us know. We will help wherever we can.
The “Make with Paint” program will be returning. We feel it was not given a fair chance and was not advertised to new painters. It consists of free videos and supply kits can be purchased from our website, look for the logo and click on it. It is for the beginner painter to learn techniques and painting skills. This could be a good Valentine’s Day gift.
The DecorativePaintersAcademy.com is adding new classes all the time. We have some great class opportunities for ALL art styles, including 3-days with Mark Menendez, Sherry Nelson, combined PLAID artists Andy Jones, Priscilla Hauser and Chris Williams. We are currently adding DecoArt Artists Sandy McTier, Tracy Moreau, Paula Leopold and Jillybean. Under Certification Seminars you will find Cheri Rol’s certification Zoom classes. Also, on this website you will find a tab for the ‘Marketplace’. This is updated regularly with SDP businesses, interviews and specials being run by various SDP businesses. Be sure and check it out!
More Painting Opportunities - Utah Guild of Heritage Artists (SLC)

Feb 20 2021 - 9:00 a.m. - Telemark plate taught by Kristen - $10 for the pattern. You are on your own for the surface. Kristen painted it on a cool plate from Turn of the Century, RNSP-16. Very cool plate but $36. Design without rim is 12-13 inches.
Mar 20th - Kay Salisbury will be teaching - I requested a paper project since it's been a while since we have done one. More details to follow.
Apr and May - Donna Richards painting from a photo. I hope we can be in the studio by then. As it gets closer there will be more detail.
