Society of Decorative Painters News
We are facing a lot of unknowns in our world today, but one thing we do know is the world is a better place if we MAKE ART!
The virus is still affecting everyone worldwide, fires are raging in the west, and aggressive weather is hitting the south and east coasts of the United States. Your SDP Board has decided the best way for all of us to stay safe and out of harm’s way is to change the January Fredericksburg retreat to a virtual retreat.
The good news is, we can still MAKE ART! We will learn some new techniques from some of our very best instructors while making memories with friends.
The fantastic news is all the teachers will be teaching their classes on separate dates using Zoom. This gives you the option to take as many classes as you desire and not miss a thing!
Here is the lineup:
Mark Menendez
Chris Williams
Priscilla Hauser MDA
Andy Jones CDA
We are excited about this new format! We have a few items to put in place and then we will open registration. Please give us a couple of days to finalize registration. We will send you an email as soon as the Zoom Retreat registration opens.
More Painting Opportunities - Utah Guild of Heritage Artists (SLC)
With the current status in the state, we will most likely have be having the Zoom classes as we did in December. If you have questions contact Betty Van Pelt 801-699-1246.
Jan 16 2021 - 9:00 a.m. - Poinsettia taught by Marilyn - $10 for the pattern.
Feb 20 2021 - 9:00 a.m. - Telemark plate taught by Kristen - $10 for the pattern. You are on your own for the surface. Kristen painted it on a cool plate from Turn of the Century, RNSP-16. Very cool plate but $36. Design without rim is 12-13 inches.
Mar 20th - Kay Salisbury will be teaching - I requested a paper project since it's been a while since we have done one. More details to follow.
Apr and May - Donna Richards painting from a photo. I hope we can be in the studio by then. As it gets closer there will be more detail.
