2023 February Newsletter
Happy Valentine's Everyone,
Next came the revision of GSDP's Standing Rules and Bylaws. All referances to SDP and Chapter had to be removed and a few other modifications made. The revised documents have been posted to the GSDP web site. We need all members to review these documents. A Vote of the membership to accept the revisions is needed to make them official. That vote will take place at the Paint-in meeting in March. Please contact me ASAP if there are problems, errors or other revision that need to be made.
We also addressed the problem of GSDP officers. Because of Covid, expired terms, illness, and other problems, GSDP found itself with no elected officers. We had intended to have elections last fall, but the issues with SDP put that on hold. Fortunately for us, members of GSDP stepped forward and volunteered to taken on the jobs that need to be done to keep GSDP going this past year. But in order to move forward we need officers who have the authority to make decisions for GSDP and we need them now. So new officers were elected by those present and given the assignment of completing the transition of GSDP to a separate organization. The new officers are Terry Pulver-President, Nancy Litz-First Vice President, Pat Reeder-Treasurer, LeeAnn Gossett-Secretary.
There are still a number of things that need to be done, but with the support of our members we will soon get there.
The really goood news is that our Seminar Chairperson, Tirzah, was so sure GSDP would continue that she has been busy setting up teachers for paint-ins and seminars for 2023. We will have Bill Bayer for a spring seminar in April and Michele Walton for a fall seminar in October. Maxine Thomas has also offered to teach a paint-in in May. Tirzah has talked to several other people who have agreed to teach and is now working on finalizing the schedule.
Looking forward to seeing many of you at our paint-ins and seminars,
Terry
