 2023 May Newsletter

Happy Spring Everone,

Finally it looks like Spring is coming with buds opening, flowers blooming and grass turning green. It can't come soon enough for most of us. It has been a very long cold wet winter!!! To paraphrase a clip my niece sent me  "Hey Santa come get the rest of your snow. Your season is Done!!! Time for Pink flowers and Bluebirds..."

The Bill Bayer seminar in April went off dispite all the problems, thanks to the members of GSDP. Tirzah had worked long and hard since the first of the year to get everything put together. Then things fell apart and the seminar seemed doomed, first with Bill not coming, then with Tirzah, Gloria, Helen, and me with sudden medical and family issues. But Pat, Lori, and Nancy took up the slack and pulled the final details together. From all reports it was a great success. We do owe Dianne a special thanks!!!! She is a oil painter from way back and had agreeded to be the monitor for the class in Bill's absence. Instead she ended up teaching and was loved by all. Thanks again Dianne. Those of us that missed the seminar will try to get together later this year to paint and Dianne has agreeded to work with us and those who did not quite finish the painting the picture at the seminar. We will let you know more later.

Coming up in a couple of weeks, Maxine Thomas will be teaching the paint-in in May. We will be painting the Roly-Poly Santa. The wood has been ordered. It looks like we will have a big turnout and I'm sure we will all enjoy it.     Note: the class is already full.

We have several more fun paint-in's scheduled for the summer. Pat will teach her cute Dandy Lion, Shaunna a Tulip, and Laura Clegg a Sunflower and Bee Box.

Looking forward to seeing many of you at our paint-ins and seminars,

Terry
